Cupping is an ancient form of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It uses cups to create a vacuum over areas of body tissue. Instead of massage pushing into to the body to release, cupping lifts and gently creates space between areas of the body. Cupping sessions can create circular marks on the body. These marks are not bruises as there is no damage to the tissue but rather they are a release of held toxins and blood in the area. The marks that are created are interpreted and provide information about the interior health of the body. Cupping relaxes tight muscles, aides in releasing tension and stress while encouraging healthy blood flow to help the body function optimally.
